Get Involved

SOAR Lifelong Learning is powered by volunteers.

From greeting members to leading small group discussions, and from teaching courses to taking on leadership positions, volunteers are the heart and soul, and future, of SOAR.

But, SOAR volunteers are not just helping SOAR. Staying connected to and helping others is a proven way to feel less isolated, to enhance your own quality of life through discovery, humor and joy. Take the first step and contact our administrative team to become a volunteer:

SOAR Ambassadors: SOAR Ambassadors provide that wonderful SOAR greeting, provide directions, answer questions, accept recommendations, and promote social interaction. This is a wonderful way to meet other SOAR members and enjoy our lectures and classes while doing helpful work.

SIG Group Leaders and Facilitators: Shared Interest Groups or SIGs are small groups which typically meet once a month and take a deep dive into areas of common interest. SOAR’s SIGs are hosted by a SOAR volunteer (or team of volunteers) to discuss a book, film, or issue. SOAR SIGs are a free benefit of SOAR membership and are a wonderful way to connect in a more intimate fashion with SOAR members.
