Special Events/Field Trips
Never. Stop. Learning.
SOAR is more than three terms of classes. Featured Speaker events, panel discussions, field trips, and other activities are just some of the ways SOAR honors its commitment to providing a year-round calendar of diverse experiential activities for older adults who love to learn and live an active lifestyle.
SOAR’s Featured Speaker Special Event programs, held throughout the year, feature speakers of local and national prominence who have much to say. From interviews with politicians and public affair officials to presentations by distinguished authors, artists, media stars, and more, these events further SOAR’s mission to bring rich cultural and social experiences to our adults age 55 and better.
Field Trips for SOAR members and friends are back! These are typically a one-half day excursion to a place or venue of interest. Whether it is the Detroit Institute of Arts, Cranbrook Gardens, or a tour of the Hamtramck community, our team promises an enlightening, fun and engaging afternoon (or morning!). Fees for field trips vary.
SOAR Featured Speakers Special Events, Field Trips and other activites are open to SOAR members, non-members and guests, as space allows. Pre-registration is required.
